Lighthouse a11y across the authenticated module pages flagged: the clickable
Siftlode logo had aria-label='Feed' (accessible name didn't include its visible
text); the shared Switch, theme swatches, sort selects and several number/range
inputs had no accessible name/label. Give Switch role='switch'+aria-checked and
an optional label (passed at every call site), aria-label the swatches, selects
(feed/playlists sort) and the settings/config/scheduler inputs, and drop the
mismatched logo aria-label so its visible text is the name. All 11 module pages
now score 100 accessibility (settings 86->100, playlists 89->100, others 92-95->100).
- Filter header: show the active-filter count as a compact number pill instead of
'{n} active' text, and keep the action buttons on one line (shrink-0 + nowrap) so
nothing truncates or wraps in a narrow / zoomed-in sidebar (e.g. 125% browser zoom).
- Sync status: anchor the 'all synced' state with a small check icon so it no longer
reads as orphaned text at the top of the nav rail.
Restructure the app shell into three top-level columns:
- The per-user sync status (video counts + live sync state) moves from the top bar to a
compact block at the top of the left nav rail (icon-only with a tooltip when collapsed).
- The feed's Mine/Library scope toggle moves to the top of the filter sidebar.
- The filter sidebar becomes a full-height sibling column with its own collapse control
(a thin rail carrying the active-filter count), mirroring the nav rail. The top bar is
now just the feed search / page title.
- Both panels' collapsed state is persisted to the user's preferences (server-side, so it
follows the account across devices), seeded from a localStorage cache to avoid a flash.
Default: both panels open.
The "Filters N active" badge and Clear all only tracked the sidebar facets
(tags/show/sort/content/date/channel), so the toolbar-level Source and the
Mine/Library scope neither bumped the count nor reset — inconsistent with
filtersToParams (which treats them as filters, so Save view/Share already
captured them).
- activeCount now includes Library scope and a non-default Source; "relevance"
(auto-applied while searching, no manual option) is excluded from the sort
count so typing a query no longer inflates the badge.
- Clear all resets scope back to "my" (Mine) and drops Source to organic,
alongside the facets. The search q is intentionally preserved.
- The header search box gets a clear (X) button when it holds a value, so the
search has its own reset (clearing it reverts the relevance sort to newest).
A new "Saved views" filter-sidebar widget (SavedViewsWidget): save the
current filters under a name, apply one with a click (active-highlighted
when it matches), rename, delete (confirm), drag-reorder, share by link
(reuses shareUrl), and star one as the default. The default view's filters
are mirrored to localStorage so loadInitialFilters applies it synchronously
on load/F5 (an api/url share link still wins; no default → last-session
filters as before). Hidden for the demo account. EN/HU/DE.
- Channels manager: prominent channel-name search box and the 'Your tags' chips are now
clickable to filter the table by tag (replacing the hidden per-column DataTable popovers).
Both filter client-side over the status-filtered list; a focus-channel intent seeds the
search, the reset intent clears both.
- Feed 'Your tags' sidebar: count user tags in the facet endpoint (the 'other' category) and
make the widget contextual like language/topic — counts reflect the current filter and
zero-count chips hide (e.g. a source=search view with no tagged channels shows 'no matching
tags' instead of the full static list). EN/HU/DE searchPlaceholder.
Typing in the search box changed the feed/count/facets query keys on every keystroke, so
each query dropped to its loading state and blanked the content — the whole feed area
flickered. Debounce the search term feeding the queries (the input still updates instantly)
so they only re-run after a pause, and keep previous results on screen during a refetch via
placeholderData: keepPreviousData, so the feed and tag counts update in place without blanking.
components/ui/form.tsx replaces the per-panel copies:
- Switch — was duplicated in SettingsPanel (Switch) + ConfigPanel (Toggle) +
Sidebar (inline labeled toggle).
- Section (with a card variant) — was in SettingsPanel + Stats (plain) and
AdminUsers (glass card).
- SettingRow + HintLabel — the label+hint+control row was identical in SettingsPanel + Stats.
No visual change intended (Sidebar's toggle gains the standard knob shadow).
- Channel-row tags show only what's attached; a '+' opens a per-channel picker. Clicking a tag
filters the feed by it; a 'Your tags' sidebar widget makes that filter visible/clearable.
- Tag manager dialog (add/rename/delete; delete only confirms when the tag is in use), reachable
from the Channel manager and the feed sidebar; hovering a tag's count lists its channels, each a
link that focuses it in the Channel manager (DataTable gains an external filter input).
- Video cards get a reset action that clears all watch state (incl. an in-progress position).
- api.req() now raises the error dialog on 5xx and 400/409/422 with the server's reason.
1) Move the Show view filter (Unwatched/In progress/All/Watched/Hidden) up into the
toolbar chip row as its own single-select group, divided from the content-type chips;
removed the 'show' sidebar widget (sidebar now = Upload date / Language / Topic).
2) Rework ordering like the Playlists page: a sort-key dropdown (Date, Popular, Duration,
Name, Channel subscribers, Channel priority, Surprise me) + a single asc/desc arrow
toggle, instead of separate directional entries. 'Most viewed' is now 'Popular'.
Backend gains the missing directions (views_asc, title_desc, subscribers_asc,
priority_asc); the frontend maps (key, dir) -> the backend sort string, so FeedFilters
is unchanged. Trilingual (feed.sortKey.*, feed.dirAsc/dirDesc). Feed.tsx normalized to LF.
Move content type and ordering out of the filter sidebar into a feed toolbar (approved
proposal 2): a prominent content-type chip row (Normal/Shorts/Live toggle chips) with the
sort control + count + reshuffle in a quieter row beneath it. The toolbar renders even on
'no matches' so content-type can be turned back on after it filtered everything out. The
sidebar keeps Show / Upload date / Language / Topic; 'sort' and 'content' widgets removed
from the layout (normalizeLayout drops them from any saved layout). New feed.sortLabel
string (HU/EN/DE).
The 'Synced N playlists' and 'View link copied' toasts used the default info level,
which renders in the accent colour and read as an error/alert. Mark them level:success
so they show the green check — clearly positive and theme-independent.
The old per-video status='saved' becomes membership in a built-in, undeletable
'watch_later' playlist. Migration 0012 moves existing saved videos into each user's
Watch later list and demotes the states to 'new'. The feed/playlist serializers now
expose a 'saved' boolean (EXISTS in watch_later); the card bookmark toggles watch_later
via new /api/playlists/watch-later add/remove endpoints (create-on-demand) instead of
setting a status. Removed the 'saved' show-filter and status. Watch later shows a
localized name and hides rename/delete in the Playlists page and add-to-playlist popover.
Add a share button next to Clear all that copies a link reproducing the current
filter view (filters, sort, scope) to the clipboard, with a confirmation toast.
This is the opt-in replacement for the old always-on URL mirroring. Trilingual.
The AND/OR ("Any"/"All") control for topic chips was a single faint corner link
that was easy to miss. Replace it with a labelled segmented control ("Match:
[Any][All]") so the AND option is discoverable. New trilingual 'match' label.
Order topic/language chips by their (contextual) count descending, name as the
tiebreaker, so the most-populated tags sit at the top and the smallest counts
fall to the bottom as you scan down.
Topic and language chips now show live channel counts for the current filter
context instead of the static global count, and chips that match nothing are
hidden (selected chips stay so they can be cleared). Selecting a channel (or any
filter) drops the now-irrelevant chips and updates the rest. Extract a shared
filterParams() so the feed and facets queries see identical filters; the facets
query is keyed on filters so it refetches as they change. Trilingual empty-state
string when a category has no matching tags.
Add a "Mine / Library" segmented toggle (shown on the feed page) that switches
FeedFilters.scope between the user's own subscriptions and the whole shared
catalog. A read-scope-less user (signed in but no YouTube grant) can now browse
and manage the shared library on their own account — the empty "my feed" state
offers a "browse the shared library" shortcut alongside the connect-YouTube CTA.
scope is preserved across "Clear all" (it's a mode, not a filter) and kept out
of the URL state. Trilingual strings (HU/EN/DE) for the toggle and the CTA.
The backend shuffle sort already accepts a seed param. Add a circular
reshuffle button next to the sort control (shown only when shuffle is
active) that re-rolls the seed and re-queries the feed; selecting shuffle
also seeds a fresh order instead of the deterministic seed-0 one. The seed
lives in FeedFilters but is intentionally kept out of the URL state.
The per-tag channel_count was already returned by GET /api/tags but only
surfaced in the chip tooltip. Render it as a small count badge on the chip
face so the relative weight of each topic/language is visible at a glance.
Feed, VideoCard, Sidebar, PlayerModal, Channels, Stats, SettingsPanel,
OnboardingWizard, NotificationCenter, Toaster, ErrorBoundary and the relativeTime
helper are now fully translated in Hungarian, English and German, each with its own
locale area file (auto-loaded). Key parity verified across all three languages.
Video cards show a resume progress bar for started-but-unfinished videos and a
hover overlay: Play on every card, Continue + Restart on in-progress ones. The
in-app player now resumes from (and checkpoints to) the server position instead
of localStorage, accepts an explicit startAt (Restart -> 0), and refreshes the
feed on close so the card bar reflects the session. Sidebar gains an
'In progress' show filter.
The channel filter chip stored only the channel id in the URL, so after a
page refresh the human name was lost and it fell back to "This channel".
Resolve the title from the cached channels list keyed by id, and show a
"Loading…" label instead of the misleading fallback while it resolves.
- Tooltip: render in a portal with fixed positioning + edge-flip so hints are never
clipped by overflow/stacking ancestors (fixes mispositioned/hidden bubbles app-wide).
- Glass: raise opacity so overlay menus/panels stay readable over content.
- SettingsPanel: vertical tab rail (no wrapping/jumping), content grid-stacked so the
panel sizes to the tallest tab (stable height) and floats to its content height.
- Notifications: the test toast is now a normal auto-dismissing toast (with countdown
bar) that also plays the sound via a new force-sound flag.
- Channel manager: explain priority/tags/hide and what 'Sync subscriptions' does;
add a 'Channel priority' feed sort so priority is actually meaningful.
- Add a theme-aware glass surface system (.glass/.glass-card + ambient backdrop,
performance-mode opt-out) and apply it across panels, popovers, toasts, cards,
sidebar widgets, channel rows, video cards and login.
- SettingsPanel: slide in/out animation, glass styling, wrapping pill tabs (no
horizontal scrollbar) with a prominent active state.
- Notifications: auto-dismiss can be switched off (stays until closed); the test
notification now also triggers the alert sound; resume a suspended AudioContext.
- Add an app-wide, toggleable hint/tooltip system (lib/hints + Tooltip) and wire
hints across the settings and channel-manager surfaces; persisted per account.
Each filter group is now a card with a collapse chevron. An Edit mode (pencil)
reveals drag handles (@dnd-kit) to reorder and eye toggles to show/hide widgets,
plus Reset to defaults. Layout (order/collapsed/hidden) persists to localStorage
and the server preferences blob, adopted on login.
- Header: avatar opens an account popover (hover + click) with identity, admin
badge and Sign out; removes the standalone logout icon.
- Sidebar: relative upload-date chips (24h/1w/1m/6m/1y) backed by max_age_days,
with a Custom toggle revealing the from/to range; mutually exclusive.
- Sidebar: 'Filters · N active · Clear all' moved to the top; drop bottom button.
- Hidden view shows an Unhide action (eye icon) instead of Hide
- Upload-date filter: From/To date range (inclusive); feed shows only videos
published in that window (backend published_after / published_before)
- New sort options: Name (A-Z) and Channel subscribers, alongside date/views/
duration/shuffle
- Native controls follow the theme via color-scheme (dark date picker)
- Content type is now three independent toggles (Normal / Shorts / Live·Upcoming);
the feed is the union of enabled types (backend show_normal + include_shorts +
include_live)
- Per-channel filter: a button on each card scopes the feed to that channel, shown
as a removable chip in the sidebar
- Hide now refetches the feed once the change is persisted, so a hidden video shows
up in the Hidden view immediately (no refresh needed); optimistic updates respect
the current view
- Grid cards are now distinct panels (card background, border, shadow) that lift on
hover; clickable channel name in list view too
- Language detection: classify one cleaned+concatenated blob (strip emoji,
@mentions, #tags, numbers, punctuation); fixes caps/emoji-heavy channels
(e.g. Nessaj -> Hungarian, no more bogus Chinese/Korean)
- Feed now joins the user's subscriptions, so unsubscribing on YouTube removes a
channel from the feed; periodic subscription re-sync job picks up changes
- Watched/Saved/Hidden views ignore the Shorts/live default-hiding so the full
set is visible (fixes hidden videos missing from the Hidden view)
- Persist feed filters + search across reloads (localStorage)
- 3D polish: cards lift with shadow on hover; chips/buttons get depth and a
press effect; undo toast lasts longer
- Shorts: confirm via youtube.com/shorts/<id> probe (SOCS cookie bypasses the
consent redirect) instead of a 60s heuristic; concurrent probing, shorts_probed
flag, scheduled refinement (migration 0005)
- Search: match title + channel name only (descriptions caused noisy results)
- Faceted tag filtering: AND across categories (language AND topic narrows),
OR within a category; any/all toggle applies to topics
- Language detection: majority vote over individual titles (fixes misdetections
like multipoleguy -> English; drops bogus Polish/Romanian)
- Login: drop forced consent so returning sign-in is quick (select_account)
- Feed cards: clickable channel name (opens channel), persistent saved badge,
undo toast on hide, Hidden view to restore; tag chips show counts in tooltip
- Vite + React + TS + Tailwind SPA served by FastAPI (multi-stage Docker build)
- Four color schemes (Midnight default, Forest, Slate, YouTube) x dark/light,
adjustable text size; persisted to user preferences and localStorage
- Header search, grid/list toggle, theme menu; sidebar filters (show state,
sort, include Shorts/live, language + topic tag chips with any/all matching)
- Infinite-scroll feed of video cards; click opens youtube.com in a new tab;
per-video watched / saved / hidden actions with optimistic updates
- SPA fallback routing; login screen for unauthenticated users
