Machine-baseline harvest (ruff + knip), all tsc/parse-green, no runtime change:
- backend: remove 3 unused imports (channels/playlists/youtube) via ruff; drop the
unused `job` binding in unshare_download (keep the _own_job ownership guard call).
- frontend: remove `export` from 23 internally-used-only symbols (knip "unused
exports") to shrink the public surface; delete 2 genuinely-dead declarations
(PlexBrowseResult — leftover from the removed /browse route; WIDGET_TITLES —
hardcoded English titles superseded by i18n).
Held back for a decision (unused here = possibly-unwired, NOT dead — flagged, not
removed): e2ee.lock()/clearDevice() (security primitives never wired to logout / a
"forget device" feature) and loadDefaultViewFilters (App reimplements it inline — a
DRY issue). See siftlode-ops/CODE-HYGIENE.md.
Multi-account-in-one-browser (esp. with per-tab accounts) leaked one account's client state
into another via shared localStorage keys. Scope every account-specific key by the tab's active
account (accountKey/readAccount/writeAccount/useAccountPersistedState helpers), so nothing bleeds
across accounts or tabs:
- Real leaks: selected playlist, client notification history + settings, onboarding-dismissed.
- UI position: feed page, channel-manager filter/view + tables, playlist sort, Settings/Stats/
Users/Config tabs.
- Previously DB-adopted caches (theme, hints, performance mode, sidebar layout, nav/filter
collapse) — now the cache is per-account too, so there's no flash of the other account's value
on login.
Kept intentionally global: siftlode.lang (needed pre-login on the Welcome page; the DB pref still
scopes it per-account after sign-in) and siftlode.seenVersion (a per-browser 'new version' banner).
E2EE private keys (IndexedDB) and the chat-dock key were already per-user.
- errorDialog + hints now use createStore (drop their bespoke listener arrays).
- theme/sidebarLayout/notifications/App filters/Playlists plSort use readMerged/
readJSON/writeJSON instead of inline try/JSON.parse/catch.
- Stats, SettingsPanel and App's channel filter/view tabs use usePersistedState
(the 3 sites that reinvented usePersistedTab inline).
- Every siftlode.* key now sourced from the LS registry (no scattered literals).
Replace the leftover 'subfeed' name across logger names + log_config,
frontend localStorage keys, Postgres user/db/volume defaults in the
compose files, .env.example, config.py, backup/restore scripts and the
README. Pure rename; no behavioural change. localStorage keys move from
subfeed.* to siftlode.* (one-time UI-state reset is acceptable).
The pending-access-requests notification still said "review in Settings -> Account",
but that moved to the new Users page in 5a. Update the text (EN/HU/DE), and give the
notification a durable inbox link ("Review" -> Users page) via a new access-requests
meta kind (persists across reload, unlike a live action callback). Also stop it
piling up: persisted notices reload as dismissed history, so the old dedupe never
matched and a fresh copy was added every load — now removeByMetaKind drops any prior
access-requests notice before re-issuing, keeping exactly one current nudge.
Extend the reload-safe meta+link pattern (introduced for "Subscribed") to
more inbox entries, so every notice that can point somewhere does:
- A "Marked watched" activity notice now offers "Find in feed" (jumping to
the feed filtered to Watched + that channel), alongside Unwatch — matching
what the "Hidden" notice already does. VideoWatchedMeta carries the
channel, and locate() handles both hidden and watched.
- A scheduler job-completion notice (System) now offers "Open Scheduler",
jumping to the dashboard.
Maintenance notices reference already-removed videos, so they stay
informational with nothing to navigate to.
Add a "Discover from playlists" tab to the Channel manager that lists
channels appearing in the user's playlists they don't subscribe to, with
a one-click Subscribe.
- GET /api/channels/discovery: local join (playlist_items -> videos ->
channels) minus the user's subscriptions and their own channel. Enriches
stub channels' metadata up front (title/thumbnail/subscriber count via the
API key) so the user can judge a channel before subscribing; videos are
not pulled (the scheduler picks those up).
- POST /api/channels/{id}/subscribe: write-scope gated, subscriptions.insert
+ local Subscription with the returned resource id.
- YouTubeClient.insert_subscription / get_my_channel_id.
- users.yt_channel_id (migration 0019) caches the user's own channel id so
discovery can exclude it.
- Frontend: ChannelDiscovery DataTable, Channels tab toggle (persisted),
api methods, trilingual strings. Subscribe ships a typed notification
payload (ChannelSubscribedMeta) for the inbox to act on.
The notice promised 'this will clear once it's back', but nothing ever
removed it: the toast auto-hid on a 15s timer (not on recovery) and the
v0.9.0 unified inbox kept every notify() in persistent history, so the
notice lingered there forever.
Model it as a single live status instead: one sticky, transient (never
persisted) notice while the server is unreachable, removed the moment any
request reaches the server again. Adds a 'transient' notification flag
(sticky toast + excluded from history so a reload can't orphan it) and
replaces the throttled-toast helper with a connectivity lost/restored pair.
i18n the strings (errors.offline.*) in EN/HU/DE — they were hardcoded English.
Fold the client-side transient bell into the inbox page so there's a single
notification indicator. The inbox now has two groups — "System" (durable,
server-backed) and "Activity" (client-side events with their Unhide/Unwatch/
Find-in-feed actions) — and the nav badge sums both unread counts. The separate
rail bell (NotificationCenter) is removed.
Activity items get a per-item clear (X) alongside the global Clear all. Unhiding
or unwatching a video from anywhere — a card, the toast's Undo, or the inbox —
now quietly resolves the original "Hidden/Watched X" entry (no duplicate "Unhidden
X" toast, no stale entry with a dead action), via a new resolveVideo store helper.
Persisted notifications were restored with their saved 'dismissed' state, so any
that were still active when the page closed came back as active toasts — but
their auto-dismiss timers aren't re-armed on load, leaving them stuck on screen
forever (a burst of errors could pile up dozens). Mark restored entries as
dismissed on load: they stay in the bell history but no longer reappear as live
toasts. The toast surface is session-transient; history persists.
Mirror the hide flow for watched: marking a video watched (card, modal toggle,
or auto-watch) raises a toast and a bell-history entry with an Unwatch action —
no Find-in-feed, just revert. NotifMeta becomes a discriminated union
(video-hidden | video-watched); unhide/unwatch share one revert-to-new helper.
- Tooltip: render in a portal with fixed positioning + edge-flip so hints are never
clipped by overflow/stacking ancestors (fixes mispositioned/hidden bubbles app-wide).
- Glass: raise opacity so overlay menus/panels stay readable over content.
- SettingsPanel: vertical tab rail (no wrapping/jumping), content grid-stacked so the
panel sizes to the tallest tab (stable height) and floats to its content height.
- Notifications: the test toast is now a normal auto-dismissing toast (with countdown
bar) that also plays the sound via a new force-sound flag.
- Channel manager: explain priority/tags/hide and what 'Sync subscriptions' does;
add a 'Channel priority' feed sort so priority is actually meaningful.
- Add a theme-aware glass surface system (.glass/.glass-card + ambient backdrop,
performance-mode opt-out) and apply it across panels, popovers, toasts, cards,
sidebar widgets, channel rows, video cards and login.
- SettingsPanel: slide in/out animation, glass styling, wrapping pill tabs (no
horizontal scrollbar) with a prominent active state.
- Notifications: auto-dismiss can be switched off (stays until closed); the test
notification now also triggers the alert sound; resume a suspended AudioContext.
- Add an app-wide, toggleable hint/tooltip system (lib/hints + Tooltip) and wire
hints across the settings and channel-manager surfaces; persisted per account.
Backend: /api/channels (list + PATCH priority/hidden + attach/detach user tags),
user-tag CRUD on /api/tags, /api/sync/my-status (per-user channel sync counts).
Frontend: feed|channels page nav (URL-synced) from the account menu; a slide-in
tabbed Settings panel (Appearance, Notifications=6b sound+duration, Sync status +
actions + admin pause/resume, Account); a channel manager with priority, hide,
per-channel user tags, sync badges and 'view in feed'. Notifications now honor the
configurable sound + auto-dismiss settings.
- NotificationCenter closes on outside click (document listener, not an overlay
that the blurred header trapped) and no longer needs a second bell click.
- Toasts show a level-colored countdown bar and auto-dismiss faster (6s default).
- Hidden-video notifications carry structured meta so the center offers an in-app
'Find in feed' (jump to that channel's hidden videos) and a one-click 'Unhide',
working even after a reload when the live Undo callback is gone.
- Replace the toast store with a notification store: levels (info/success/
warning/error/fatal), requiresInteraction, and a persisted history.
- Move toasts to the top-right, styled per level, with manual dismiss.
- Add a bell in the header opening a Notification Center (history, unread badge,
'needs attention' vs info, clear all).
- Capture network failures and 5xx responses (api layer) and render crashes
(ErrorBoundary) as notifications.
- Sound + server-sourced events + per-account settings remain for 6b.
